APPLICATIONS OF ATOMA LINEAR WEIGHERS

Atoma linear weighers are widely used in both the food and non-food industries. Due to the low drop heights in Atoma linear weighers, they are often used for fragile products. In addition, the weigher is often used for semi-automatic applications, for filling preformed bags, jars and trays.

OPERATION AND DESIGN OF THE ATOMA WEIGHING MACHINE

The Atoma weighers can consist of 1, 2, 3 or even 4 weighing heads, depending on the desired speed. Depending on the product, 20 weighings per minute per head can be achieved. There are two basic types:

  1. The short version with 1 vibrating chute per head between the hopper and weighing tray, which is suitable for fine-grained products such as salt, sugar, seeds, coffee beans, etc.
  2. The long version, which consists of 3 wide vibrating chutes and 1 narrow fine dosing chute. These are in turn suitable for larger and more difficult-to-handle products such as sweets, biscuits, meat, fish, vegetables, etc.

Depending on the desired weight, a choice can be made between narrow and wide chutes, with the narrow version suitable for up to 2.5 kilograms and the wide version for up to 10 kilograms

All contact parts of the Atoma are made of 304 stainless steel and each weighing head has a separate weighing control, so that it can also run stand-alone. This makes the weigher a typical all-rounder in any production environment.

ATOMA CONTROL

Although the original modular Atoma functions very well, many customers choose to have the weigher converted. The original Atoma load cell is replaced by a digital load cell and the Atoma circuit boards are also replaced by the calibratable NewWeigh control system. The touch screen operation, including programme storage, greatly increases the ease of use of the weighing machine.

Incidentally, this conversion is also possible for other brands such as Hastamat, Optima and SPK.
